Scones au beurre râpé

This recipe is simple and quick to do. Here, I added the zest of a lemon to the dry ingredients. The lemon flavor is delicious with a rhubarb jam with strawberry and basil. As in the picture above.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • * is a lemon or other favorite ingredient
  • ½ cup cold butter (frozen is better)
  • ¾ cup of milk
  1. Preheat oven to 400 ° F
  2. Add flour, baking powder and salt to a bowl and mix together
  3. Grate the butter in the bowl
  4. With your hands mix the shredded butter with the dry mixture
  5. Slowly add the milk and mix with a wooden spoon. Do not mix too much. The dough should be friable
  6. Form a ball, flatten into a circle, then cut into 8 points
  7. Place on a baking sheet and put in the oven
  8. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown

Serve with butter and jam and whipped cream if you feel decadent.
